The Frisian born & raised Tjade grew up idolizing Tiësto, Armin van Buuren and Don Diablo, so it wasn’t a big surprise that he quickly found himself behind the decks when he moved to Groningen to study. It was in this city, renowned for its wild underground music scene, and its lack of curfews for bars and clubs, that his childhood passion became his goal in life. Guided by the well respected and longest running party crew of the city KopjeK, and later on in the club OOST, he finessed and perfected his style and craft in the DJ booth and became known for lighting dance floors on fire.
While Tjade was playing every venue the city has to offer, he secretly also worked on perfecting his production craft. It was the summer of 2019 when it all perfectly came together leading to his rise to international fame with his very first release Koi Jaye, a rework of a 90’s Bollywood classic. It was picked up by the likes of Palms Trax, Job Jobse, Hunee, Skatebard and Esa, who played it at festivals like Dekmantel, AVA and DGTL. It was impossible to miss this track all summer long.
Now based in Utrecht, The Netherlands, Tjade has since released new EP’s, edits and remixes on labels like Live at Robert Johnson, Mule Musiq, Bordello a Parigi, Dar Disku and multiple others, offering a recognizable sound that lies somewhere in between trance, electro and (neo)italo. With more releases already finished and signed, and time well spent in the studio during the corona pandemic, we can only assume you’ll see and hear a lot more from him in the years to follow.
