Cuartero

Desolat / Hot Creations / Moon Harbour

When work and perseverance join each other in something as sublime as the love for music, it births the perfect ‘equalisation’ to the emergence of new talent. Cuartero was born just over two decades ago in Malaga, and although he did not grow up in the pure analog era, he was familiar with the essence of the old school, which heavily influenced him in how he would shape his own sound.

He started producing when he was 15 years old, and in 2012 his hard work began to bear fruit, resulting in the abundance of gigs in different countries in Europe and America, numerous top rankings on Beatport top 100 lists, a legendary closing b2b at Amnesia with Hector Couto and a residence at HYTE.

His interest in developing new sounds, textures and structures is the reason why his productions are recognisable within the first few beats. Within 6 months he had scored a ‘hat trick’ by releasing on three top labels: Hot Creations, Moon Harbour and Desolat. His sets are characterised by an energetic groove and bass, which combine the rhythms of house, tech-house, acid and funk, and the use of different kinds of samples, such as hip-hop vocals.

Cuartero’s portfolio as a DJ and a producer is incredibly impressive for such a young artist, and he does not seem to be slowing down in 2020.
